Withdrawable VCB Structure

The main feature of this switchgear is its withdrawable vacuum circuit breaker arrangement. Instead of permanently fixing the circuit breaker inside the cabinet, the breaker is installed on a movable trolley that can be moved between the service, test, and isolated positions according to the operating procedure.

This design provides practical advantages during inspection, replacement, and troubleshooting. Circuit breaker trolleys, PT trolleys, and isolator trolleys can be configured according to the electrical scheme, while the withdrawable structure allows maintenance personnel to access the relevant equipment without dismantling the complete cabinet.

For substations and industrial distribution systems where planned maintenance and equipment replacement need to be completed efficiently, the withdrawable design can simplify service operations and reduce the time required for equipment intervention.

Five-Proof Safety Interlock

Safe operation is a key purchasing consideration for medium-voltage switchgear because incorrect switching sequences can create serious electrical hazards. The KYN28 series incorporates a mechanical five-proof interlock system designed to restrict incorrect operating procedures.

The interlock structure prevents circuit breaker misoperation, prevents the trolley from being pulled or pushed under load, prevents the earthing switch from being closed when the circuit is energized, prevents the circuit from being energized while the earthing switch is closed, and prevents personnel from accidentally entering live compartments.

This mechanical interlocking arrangement provides an additional physical safety barrier during switching and maintenance operations, helping operators follow the correct operating sequence.

Independent Cabinet Compartments

The Medium Voltage Vcb Panel adopts a metal-partitioned internal structure that separates the main electrical sections. The breaker compartment, busbar compartment, cable compartment, instrument and control compartment, and pressure relief section are arranged independently.

This compartmentalized construction helps limit the propagation of an internal fault and separates different electrical components during inspection and maintenance. It also makes the internal electrical layout easier for operators and maintenance personnel to understand.

The top-mounted pressure relief flaps provide a controlled path for releasing pressure in the event of an internal arc fault, helping reduce the potential impact of fault pressure on personnel and surrounding equipment.

Front Operation and Maintenance

The cabinet is designed for front-side operation and maintenance, which can be valuable when the electrical room has limited rear access. Operators can perform routine switching and maintenance procedures from the front of the equipment according to the approved operating sequence.

The front-access arrangement also helps simplify equipment room planning and can reduce the space required behind the cabinet for routine maintenance activities. A built-in condensation heater can be configured for humid environments to help reduce condensation-related risks inside the cabinet.

Flexible Cabinet Configurations

Different medium-voltage distribution systems require different cabinet functions. The equipment can be configured as an incoming cabinet for receiving power from the upstream network, an outgoing cabinet for supplying feeders or motors, a PT and voltage measurement cabinet, a metering cabinet, a bus sectionalizer cabinet, or an isolation cabinet.

This configuration flexibility allows EPC contractors, electrical system integrators, and industrial users to develop switchgear lineups according to the project's single-line diagram rather than adopting an identical cabinet arrangement for every application.
